Vermicomposting is worm composting. Red wiggler worms (Eisenia foetida ) are our favorite species of worm. Vermicomposting is a big part of our soil amendment process and is used in almost everything. The worm castings are very high in nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium. They also contain materials that naturally balance the pH of the soil and add plant growth hormones similar to those found in seaweed. We also produce compost tea to use as a liquid fertilizer. Worm are also used in worm towers in the gardens. Compostable materials are deposited directly into the towers that are partially buried along the rows or beds, the worms break down the compost directly into the soil for the plant roots to absorb.
